THE CONCORD HS ALUMNI HALL OF ACHIEVEMENT
STUDENT ENRICHMENT SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM

As the Concord HS Alumni Hall of Achievement Fund enters its second year, we are proud to announce the unveiling of our keystone component: the Student Enrichment Scholarship Program (SESP). This program supports students' pursuit of educational opportunities through pre-college academic and trade programs that are offered during school breaks and summer months.

These academic and trade programs provide High School students with valuable opportunities to enhance their skills, increase their understanding of topics, and add significant experiences to their resumes. Learning opportunities in these programs can include classes in STEM (science, technology, engineering, math), literature and writing, arts and entertainment, business, education, civics/government/military, healthcare, music, and can also include research opportunities; all meaningful skills for progressing academically. Most academic and trade programs are offered by colleges and universities which also introduces students into the world of higher education. Some programs even offer advanced college credits to the participants. Depending on the content and length of each course, the costs for these valuable programs can range from $500 to several thousand dollars. Unfortunately, there is little to no funding available for these programs, limiting the chance for many students to take advantage of these invaluable opportunities. Our ultimate mission is to provide access for as many Concord HS Students as possible to take advantage of these academic and trade opportunities.

The Program’s inaugural launch will focus on distributing scholarships for the 2027 summer sessions. Our goal is to award the maximum number of scholarships possible across educational categories including STEM, literature and writing, arts and entertainment, business, education, civics/gov/military, entrepreneurship, music, and healthcare - subject to financial constraints. The Board is working closely with Concord HS guidance counselors, teachers, and staff to ensure that both students and parents receive comprehensive information regarding the application process for the Student Enrichment Scholarship Program.

The Concord HS guidance counselors will annually promote the Student Enrichment Scholarship Program (SESP) to both faculty and students. To be considered for this financial assistance, applicants are required to complete and submit an SESP Application Form, provide a letter of recommendation, and ensure that their current Concord HS transcript is submitted by the specified deadline. Financial need and whether the applicant is a member of a traditionally underserved community are both components of the selection criteria.

The Boards’ Selection Review Committee will conduct individual interviews with each candidate as part of the evaluation process. The Selection Review Committee will then provide recommendations to the board. The Board will then make the final determination on which candidates are awarded scholarships, and the dollar amount to be awarded.
